Help bring coho home
The above photo is of Rose Anne, a landowner who worked with NSEA to remove a barrier culvert on her property.
Rose Anne has lived here for over 30 years, prior to this day, she had never seen a salmon in the creek that runs through her property.
Coho returned to this section of Goodwin Creek in October 2016, almost immediately after NSEA removed three fish passage barriers on three consecutive properties in Everson, WA.
In November 2018, Rose Anne reported seeing nine coho in one hour.
November 2019, she heard them return just as she was settling for the night. The next morning, she counted 77 in the time she was watching.
Rose Anne doesn’t count the salmon anymore. Now she sits on her deck and listens to the eagles chortle in the tree tops, their bellies full of salmon.
