Free Lunchtime Workshop!
It is well known that salmon are valuable to local cultures, environments, and economies, but unless you know where and when to look you may never see them out in the wild!
In this session, NSEA’s stewardship program manager, Sarah Brown, will showcase some of the publicly available online resources, including data from NSEA’s new Salmon Spotters community science project, that you can use to better understand where and when you can see salmon in Whatcom County. We will also cover the basics of how to identify the different species of Pacific salmon, a brief overview of the different watersheds near us, and how you can support the recovery of wild salmon for future generations.
Pack your lunch and join us on Friday, June 20th in person at NSEA’s campus (3057 E Bakerview Rd Bellingham) or online via Zoom. This workshop will last from 12 – 1 PM, and staff will be available until 1:30 PM for additional discussion and Q&A. Coffee, tea, and water provided.
