EVENT CANCELED DUE TO WIND ADVISORY
Terrell Creek not only supports local coho and chum salmon populations but also promotes a healthy habitat for wildlife throughout the watershed, including 170 bird species, steelhead, coastal and residential trout, and a diverse selection of Birch Bay shellfish. Since 2002, NSEA has partnered with BP Cherry Point, Whatcom County, Birch Bay Watershed and Aquatic Resources Management (BBWARM) District, Whatcom Conservation District, private landowners, and local community groups - such as the Chums of Terrell Creek - to restore stream habitat.
Join staff from NSEA, BBWARM, BP, and Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife on Friday, October 24th from 12-2 PM for a guided tour of riparian planting projects along Terrell Creek. We’ll be visiting a variety of sites around Cherry Point to discuss land management and showcase forests through the ages – from brand new projects to mature trees. Plus, help us keep an eye out for salmon, birds, and other wildlife along the way!
We will meet at 12 PM at a parking site near Birch Bay, then hop on our tour bus. A carpool option will be available from NSEA’s campus in Bellingham.
Get an up-close look at this beautiful watershed! This is a free event. RSVP today to save your seat on the bus.
Please reach out to Megan at MAdams@n-sea.org with any questions.
